Personal
Philosophy:
It seems that I have always been
curious about the afterlife. Maybe
it is
the detective part of me
that
wants to know all the facts
of what is
really going on, or
maybe I am
just drawn to the
unknown and
unexplainable.
I remember when I was young, maybe
8 or 9, finding a book called
The Necronomican in my
older brothers
room. As I looked
through the
pages I saw different
spells and rituals on
how to
summon up demons and other
spirits. I
never actually read
those
spells all the way through
because
frankly it scared the heck
out of me! I
was curious though as
to whether
those spells were fact
or
fiction.
As I grew older I turned to
studying the Bible. I found this
to be the most vivid picture of
the
afterlife that I had ever come
across. Knowing in my heart that
there is a
Heaven and I can spend
eternity
there brought about a
certain peace.
Although, as I
stated before, the
detective in me
always wanted concrete
answers and
that kept up my
curiosity.
Questions kept running through my
mind. When
a person dies do they
immediately
go to Heaven or Hell?
Could a
spirit get caught between
and
wander the earth? Was there
really such
thing as a haunting?
Why would God
allow this to
happen?
I kept up my Biblical studies,
eventually getting a Masters of
Theology. As I grew older my
personal
thoughts turned more to
the side
of "religious" teachings.
Ideas such as
all spirits on this
Earth are from
the devil and are
here to deceive and
manipulate.
Yet there was always
that small
voice in my head telling me
that
there was more to
it.
When I married my wife, Jenna, we
often discussed all types of
religion and different views of
what the
truth really is. We
talked of
searching for the
answers to what is out
there and
why it is there. Then
one night in
deep east Texas we jumped in
with
both feet and found ourselves
in
the middle of a cemetery, face to
face with
something that could not
be
explained. From that moment on
I
was
hooked! The drive to find
out the answers to those
questions I have
always had was
intensified!
I know in my heart that there is a
link between my religious views
and the supernatural. Now finding
that
link is where the fun
begins...

I have a keen interest in the paranormal, but the question was: What is my philosophy when it comes to life after death, to spirits, to revenants, and to their interaction with the living?
A few years ago, my beliefs concerning an afterlife were definitely more skeptical. I wanted something tangible; something that I could see, hear, touch, or smell. Above and beyond any type of religious beliefs, I wanted something more.
Then came an opportunity to delve into the paranormal, to look at things from a completely different perspective. I wanted to exploit this chance to gain a little knowledge and maybe, just maybe a few solid facts. I didn’t know what to think heading in, but with the passage of time and many hours of recording, photographing, listening, and interpreting, it became evident to me that there is in fact “something” there.
This “something”, these defined mists captured in movement and whispered words and phrases emanating from the midnight darkness of cemeteries and old homes, sometimes answering questions I posed to thin air, do they hold the certainty that I seek? No way to know. There’s not a person on this planet capable of answering those questions.
However, one thing is for sure…definitely there is something there. Something real and substantial, and I want to know more about it. I feel certain I’m not unique in the belief that at some point in the future, a whispering voice or a hastily snapped photograph might just shed a little more light on some of these age-old mysteries.
I guess time will tell…

Personal Philosophy:
When asked to join the Revenant
Society, I was instantly
excited. I
thought finally I
can get answers
to lifelong
questions. The most
dominant
question in my mind is
what
happens after life. Do we
pass
on into another dimension, do
we
pass on never to be heard from
again, or
do we remain here to
watch over
our loved
ones?
I've had many
personal
experiences in my life
that have
led me to believe there
is life
after death. Now
whether or
not that is a positive
thing is
unclear.
I hope to learn the
truth about
what really happens.
Now
that I
belong to a skilled team
that
shares my quest for the truth, I
feel
that I will be able
to answer
some of those
questions and in
turn
help others with their
questions
surrounding their homes
or workplaces.
Being able to hear
the voices of
people that have
long past and putting
the pieces
together to discover
what really
happened is an awesome
experience
all in
itself.

junkie, I was
influenced by
Hollywood’s version of the
paranormal—that it was pure
evil—so in
the beginning, I was
pretty
reluctant to hang out in
cemeteries
and old abandoned
houses, to say
the least. With each captured
whisper of
“Help me” and “Help”,
my fears slowly dissipated into
compassion, even for
those that
threatened us to “Get
out”. Who are these
voices? Why didn’t they “go
to the light”
like we are taught
happens once we leave this
physical body? Could this
happen to
me?

Philosophy: If someone
were to
ask me if I think ghosts are
real, I would have to tell them
no,
I know they are. I’ve had
personal
experiences that have
erased any
doubt
I may have had. Problem is,
how do
you prove it to someone who
hasn’t?
When
I was given the
opportunity to
join the Texas
Revenant Society I
felt very
privileged to
be given the chance
to find that
proof. Oddly enough
though, I am very
skeptical. There are a lot of
people and groups out there who I
feel offer some pretty hokey
evidence to
say the least. I
believe there is
real evidence out
there of life beyond
this world.
With
this very skilled
group of
paranormal investigators, I
truly
hope to be able to share
with
others even a glimpse of what I
have
experienced
myself.
I seek knowledge of how and why
souls end up getting stuck, how to
help them get to where they should
be
and to educate others.
If I can help just one
Earthbound spirit return home or
help one
person, as well as
myself,
understand how their own
energy works so they
can find
peace in this life as
well as the
afterlife, then I will have
fulfilled
what I believe I’ve been
asked to
do. Knowledge
is power and the
more we
understand, the more we are able
to help.
