FILE
OVERVIEW: Initial walkthrough to assess
fitness of
the old house for a full investigative camera setup.
Although
the exact age is not known,
the old house is at
least 100
years
old and has been
uninhabited since the 1970's or
early 80's. Condition of the structure is
very poor;
the roof is breached in
many places and only parts of the wooden
floor
remain. Random
items of aged furniture
and
trash
litter the
floor, and almost no wimdows remain
intact. Team members had prior
knowledge of
the old house's and
family's history. Sometime during the
50's-early
60's supposedly the
father of the patriarch of
the Keith
House was
guilty of murdering his
wife in their
home about 400 yards
across a field from
our present
location. The wife
was found
lying back lifeless on the
end
of her bed,
and during a
post-mortem
examination
the
county coroner
advised
that she had bruising around
her
throat. Evidently he
suspected (or
was
determined) that
homicide was
the cause of death. However, the
authorities
declined to proscecute
the husband due to his
advanced
age;
both he
and the wife were in their late
80's. The husband lived for a few years
after the
incident, and quite often
walked across the field to visit his son and
daughter-in-law at their house, our present
location. The daughter-in-law
dreaded the visits and
feared her
father-in-law, quite often hiding and
pretending no one
was home.
This dread and fear was
only part of
the
stigma that surrounded the old
Keith
House. According to a
relative of the
family to
which we
spoke, many times
during the day or night you could be
sitting in the house
and hear a
car pull up, maybe
even see
reflections of
headlights on the
wall. Car
doors would open and
slam closed but no
one
ever came to
the door. If
you
looked out the window, there was
no car and
no person
there. Also,
strange lights
were seen
on the
interior walls
at night and in the
field to the
North of the
house. Our
investigation
would be
centered
around exploring
the
history of the aged home
and
looking
for paranormal evidence
surrounding
the claims of
phantom
cars and
unexplained
lights.
Logically, the
next step after
investigation of
this
old home would be to try for a
setup
at the Keith parents house where the
supposed murder
occured.
METEOROLOGICAL DATA:
None
FILE
RECAP: Team members
went in with
light gear to record
and photograph.
Upon analysis
no photographic
anomalies were
discovered, but a few EVPs
were
captured (below).
Although
the
structure was
unsound
and
dangerous it was deemed capable of supporting a
walkthough, so the decision was reached to
conduct a night
investigation using handheld IR
recording gear, digital recorders, EMF
meters, and digital
cameras.

"answers" were strange, some of which
were very

deciphering
RVPs is very
similar to
working with
EVP
recordings. You must muddle through
the static
and
noise, listening for
what is spoken
"underneath". I made 3 recordings
of
about 3-8 minutes each.
Recordings One and

"flat", only a

OVERVIEW:
Followup to File
08022401. One of
our team
members had personal
knowledge of
strange
"goings-on" at this site
back
in the
1960's and 1970's, as
well as
suspicion that a murder had
occurred
at
another
related
residence (close
relative's house)
about 300-400
yards across a
field. See
08022401 for
circumstances
and
conditions
of the site.
METEOROLOGICAL
DATA: Extremely dark, no
moon
visible, raining and some fog
visible, temp in 50's.
FILE
RECAP: Upon entry we setup the IR
camera on the tripod and focused on the living room, then
moved the
camera to another
location about every 5
minutes. No significant
video
anomalies were
noted. A
number of EVPs were
captured that
proved to be interesting; see below for
EVP
breakdown. The overall
atmosphere was eerie but no
one felt
a specific threat or heaviness.
However,
after listening to the EVPs
it was clear that the
"spiritual"
welcome
was certainly not
present.
Further, the chance
exists that
either (a) we
picked up a couple of
residuals
from events past, or (b) that something
possibly
lingers
there. Considering EVP activity captured,
the
possibility exists that a
full IR camera setup
could yield video
activity. Unfortunately, the
remoteness of the site location makes a full
setup very
difficult. A future
outing is planned during which this site
will be afforded
a full
investigative setup. During
the
investigation, no
phantom car sounds
were heard or
unexplained lights noted as had been
previously
described
by
witnesses.

FILE
RECAP: Bonaventure is a massive
cemetery
with Spanish moss-shrouded
trees and many, many
small winding
roads and
paths. To a great
extent
it's
like a maze filled with
graves.
Beautiful and
ornate
museum quality statuary and
monuments ranging from
200
years old
are everywhere.
Although it is
somewhat
desolate on
a weekday
afternoon,
there were
still a few
tourists wandering
around and
taking
pictures.
Although the
cemetery is large, I
had to move
repeatedly to stay
away
from voices
and machinery
noises. Consequently,
instead
of making one
consistent EVP
recording
my attempts were
broken up into
three
smaller
sessions for a grand
total
of about
15
minutes. I
have no
doubt that,
given the time and
opportunity to
set
up and monitor, this cemetery
would
be
discovered
to hold
great
paranormal
promise..

FILE
OVERVIEW: Had the
opportunity while on a
business
trip to
visit the
Sorrell-Weed
House in
Savannah,
GA. As some may remember, this is the
location where
A&E's Ghost
Hunters picked up their
longest and
most
intricate EVP.
The house
was
built in the early
1800s and was
inhabited by one of the
most
influential
families in
Savannah, the
Sorrells. One of
the most famous
stories associated
with the house (in a nutshell)
describes how the family
matriarch,
Mrs. Sorrell, was one
day searching
the house looking for
her
husband,
Francis
Sorrell.
She walked
back to the Carriage House
(behind the
main house) where a
slave woman, Molly, was
quartered. There
she found her
husband locked in an
embrace with
Molly. Upon this
discovery
Mrs. Sorrell
promptly ran
back into the main
house, up the
stairs and onto the
open
veranda, then jumped
headlong
to her death in
the
courtyard
below. A couple of
weeks after
Mrs.
Sorrell's death, Molly was found in
her quarters, hanging
dead from the
rafters suspended by a rope around her
neck. The
authorities
attributed her death to
suicide but
the story
goes
that Mrs. Sorrell's
sons,
amgered at the death of their mother and holding
Molly
responsible, had perpetrated
her murder. The
strong
EVP
that A&E's
Ghost
Hunters
picked up was a full 10
seconds of a
female voice
screaming for
"Help", yelling
"Oh, my God",
and "Get
out of
here". Was
this Molly
reliving
her final
moments on
earth? No one
knows.
However, this
site
has long
been known for
strong paranormal
influence.
METEOROLOGICAL
DATA: Skies were cloudy,
temp
about 75 degrees, high
humidity, light breeze.
Barometer had to be
rising as
Tropical Storm Fay was one
day
away.
FILE
RECAP: I
took
the $15 tour of the
house which
began at 2230
hours; upon conclusion of the tour you
are
given an opportunity to
walk around and record or
photograph
at will.
There were
about
10-15 people on
the tour with
me so
I had to be
selective as to
which
area I
attempted recording
(noise).
Turned out the basement
was
the
quietest and most private
area. I really
wanted
to
record in the
Carriage
House, but
we were restricted to
the
main building, so I began
wandering. Only managed about 10 minutes
of clear recording, but
in those 10
minutes I turned up a
couple of
interesting EVPs. In
these
EVPs you will
hear loud,
echoing footsteps (mine), this is due to the
wooden
floors in the basement.
A mechanical
background
whirring is
caused
by the air
conditioner. One thing is for sure...I caught
these 5 EVPs
and another couple that
were totally
unintelligible in
about
10 minutes of
recording. I would pay to be
able to spend the night with a full
investigative setup
such as was the
case with A&E's Ghost
Hunters!
