INVESTIGATIONS - DATA FILES

These files are being posted in a random order as time and circumstances permit, so please check back occasionally to see if there is anything new.  Between our Cemetery EVP Project and normal investigations, there are literally hundreds of media items (audio and video) to post, so please bear with us.  As stated on the previous page, in the interest of privacy and dignity we have thoroughly "sanitized" these files to remove names, specific places, or any personally identifiable  information.  We will share information with other professional paranormal groups if requested; contact us through email with your requests.

Our Cemetery EVP Project is an ongoing effort to (a) visit targeted cemeteries in order to see if EVPs can be captured in the vicinity of interrment, and (b) revisit these same places from time to time in order to determine if EVP activity increases / decreases based on weather, moon phase, geophysical conditions, time, or other extraneous forces.

NOTE:  On all audio postings below, "filtered" normally means simple noise reduction and/or volume enhancement possibly coupled with application of a Parametric Equalizer filter.  We make every effort not to destroy the EVP through filtration.  Also, in almost all of these cases we include the original unaltered recording for your analysis.  On photo postings, whenever possible we try to include a "comparison" shot that was taken within seconds of the picture in question.

Last, we welcome your questions or input.  If you disagree with what we think an EVP is saying or if you can decipher something that we have marked as "unintelligible", please let us know via email.  We will be pleased to add your thoughts to the page.
One last time (again), we strongly recommend the use of headphones when attempting to decipher EVP recordings.

FILE NUMBER:  08022401

SITE:  Old Keith Family Home, Texas
FILE DATE AND TIME:    Feb 24, 2008 /  Afternoon
TEAM MEMBERS PARTICIPATING:   Steven, Jenna, and Ella
EQUIPMENT USED:   Handheld recorder, digital cameras, EMF Meter
FILE OVERVIEW:   Initial walkthrough to assess fitness of the old house for a full investigative camera setup.  Although the exact age is not known, the old house is at least 100 years old and has been uninhabited since the 1970's or early 80's.  Condition of the structure is very poor; the roof is breached in many places and only parts of the wooden floor remain.  Random items of aged furniture and trash litter the floor, and almost no wimdows remain intact.   Team members had prior knowledge of the old house's and family's history.  Sometime during the 50's-early 60's supposedly the father of the patriarch of the Keith House was guilty of murdering his wife in their home about 400 yards across a field from our present location.  The wife was found lying back lifeless on the end of her bed, and during a post-mortem examination the county coroner advised that she had bruising around her throat.  Evidently he suspected (or was determined) that homicide was the cause of death.  However, the authorities declined to proscecute the husband due to his advanced age; both he and the wife were in their late 80's.  The husband lived for a few years after the incident, and quite often walked across the field to visit his son and daughter-in-law at their house, our present location.  The daughter-in-law dreaded the visits and feared her father-in-law, quite often hiding and pretending no one was home.  This dread and fear was only part of the stigma that surrounded the old Keith House.  According to a relative of the family to which we spoke, many times during the day or night you could be sitting in the house and hear a car pull up, maybe even see reflections of headlights on the wall.  Car doors would open and slam closed but no one ever came to the door.  If you looked out the window, there was no car and no person there.  Also, strange lights were seen on the interior walls at night and in the field to the North of the house.  Our investigation would be centered around exploring the history of the aged home and looking for paranormal evidence surrounding the claims of phantom cars and unexplained lights.  Logically, the next step after investigation of this old home would be to try for a setup at the Keith parents house where the supposed murder occured.

METEOROLOGICAL DATA:    None
FILE RECAP:   Team members went in with light gear to record and photograph.  Upon analysis no photographic anomalies were discovered, but a few EVPs were captured (below).  Although the structure was unsound and dangerous it was deemed capable of supporting a walkthough, so the decision was reached to conduct a night investigation using handheld IR recording gear, digital recorders, EMF meters, and digital cameras.

SITE:   Team Member's (Sam's) House
FILE DATE AND TIME:    Feb 28, 2008/ 1400 hours

TEAM MEMBERS PARTICIPATING:   Sam
EQUIPMENT USED:   RVP Box, Computer recorder
FILE OVERVIEW:
This is an initial test of the newly wired RVP box.
METEOROLOGICAL DATA:    N/A
FILE RECAP:    The RVP questioning starts with 3 tests of 5 minutes each, then sound and recording volumes were checked and the results were analyzed.  The "answers" were strange, some of which were very targeted.  At the onset, it seems that deciphering RVPs is very similar to working with EVP recordings.  You must muddle through the static and noise, listening for what is spoken "underneath".  I made 3 recordings of about 3-8 minutes each.  Recordings One and Two were almost "flat", only a few of the questions asked were decipherably answered.  However, with Recording Three it was like a "window" suddenly opened.  Virtually every question asked was answered.  Then Recording Four went back to hit and miss.

FILE ATTACHMENTS

1.  Recording 3- Clip 1.11 :  Question: "Are you in Heaven?" - Answers:  At least three "Yes" including a very strong one at the end of the recording.

3.  Recording 3- Clip 1.48 :  This is most definitely a strange one.  -  Listen for a female voice right at the beginning of the recording say "Sam, can I help you?"  I had written down the questions I intended to ask, and even before I spoke my question, this female voice asks the same question using my name in the process.  After the question, listen for a male voice saying "Yeah", then a female voice saying "Right".

5.  Recording 3- Clip 2.19 :  I ask "Can one of you say my name? Can you say 'Sam'  so I'll know you're there?"  Voices begin saying "Sam" right when I start to ask the question.  The name "Sam" is repeated 8-10 times before the recording ends.

6.  Recording 3- Clip 3.31 :  Question-  "If you can see me, what color are my pants?"  A male voice replies "Blue", then a second later, "Jeans."  Blue jeans was the correct answer.  Also, the answer came from the same male voice but the "Jeans" came four clicks past "Jeans."   This is virtually impossible as each click represents a change in frequency (about 30khz ?), yet it was the same voice.  Listen for yourself.

8.  Recording 3- Clip 42.59:  This is one of the strangest responses I received during the questioning.  I ask the question-  "Are you evil or good?"  The reply "Evil" comes in the same female voice but split over different frequencies.  The voice responds "E" - "VIL".  Listen to the answer.

TEAM MEMBERS PARTICIPATING:   Steven, Jenna, Sam, and Ella
EQUIPMENT USED:   Handheld recorders, digital cameras, EMF Meter, Handheld IR Camera w/tripod
FILE OVERVIEW:
Followup to File 08022401.  One of our team members had personal knowledge of strange "goings-on" at this site back in the 1960's and 1970's, as well as suspicion that a murder had occurred at another related residence (close relative's house) about 300-400 yards across a field.  See 08022401 for circumstances and conditions of the site.
METEOROLOGICAL DATA:    Extremely dark, no moon visible, raining and some fog visible, temp in 50's.
FILE RECAP:    Upon entry we setup the IR camera on the tripod and focused on the living room, then moved the camera to another location about every 5 minutes.  No significant video anomalies were noted.  A number of EVPs were captured that proved to be interesting; see below for EVP breakdown.  The overall atmosphere was eerie but no one felt a specific threat or heaviness.  However, after listening to the EVPs it was clear that the "spiritual" welcome was certainly not present.  Further, the chance exists that either (a) we picked up a couple of residuals from events past, or (b) that something possibly lingers there.  Considering EVP activity captured, the possibility exists that a full IR camera setup could yield video activity.  Unfortunately, the remoteness of the site location makes a full setup very difficult.  A future outing is planned during which this site will be afforded a full investigative setup.  During the investigation, no phantom car sounds were heard or unexplained lights noted as had been previously described by witnesses.

7.  EVP at 25.03 minutes from start:   Team moves outside and walks around house photographing and recording.  "Pops" on the recording are caused by raindrops hitting the recorder and surrounding tin/debris.  On the North side of the house, an eerie EVP or residual anomaly is captured.  On the recording a team member can be heard talking in a low voice; simultaneously the EVP voice says what sounds like "Get off of me!", says something undecipherable, then says "Take your hands off meeee!"  Possibly followed by more mumbling, but the recording is so static-filled due to surrounding noises that nothing can be deciphered.  This is definitely a strange clip; we would welcome your thoughts as to what you think it is saying.

METEOROLOGICAL DATA:    None
FILE RECAP:    No significant photo anomalies were noted.  However, one noteworthy audio anomaly was captured; at about 4.05 minutes from entry, Jenna asks "Can you tell me your name?"  The Class A EVP responds "Edgar".  Then, at about 47.5 minutes from entry, Jenna's recorder again picks up an EVP voice again saying "Edgar".  At about 1.3 minutes from entry, Jenna and Steven are walking together asking questions; Jenna is speaking  when a Class C EVP voice is captured saying "Stop!"  We've noted this as "possible" as it could be the result of movement or clothing noise, but it is believed to be EVP.

FILE DATE AND TIME:    Jun 22, 2008 /  0049 hours
TEAM MEMBERS PARTICIPATING:   Steven, Jenna, and Sam
EQUIPMENT USED:   Handheld recorders, digital cameras, EMF Meter
FILE OVERVIEW:   Routine EVP collection as part of the Cemetery EVP Project.
METEOROLOGICAL DATA:     Air temp is 70 deg, low humidity, light dew on ground, sky is clear, no wind
FILE RECAP:
Initial walkthough to see if level of activity warrants a full equipment setup.  Numerous EVPs (of all classes) were captured.  As had been seen at other sites, team members spotted intermittent, tiny spots of light that would flash or streak (vortex lines).  Although extremely difficult to capture with the cameras, one picture (below) might illustrate a red light point.  The overall atmosphere was "heavy" and at times uncomfortable.  A decision was reached to schedule a full equipment setup at a future date.

FILE ATTACHMENTS

1.  Photo - Possibly captured a small point of red light such as the type seen by team members.  Look for a tiny, red point of light over and to the right of a tall, slim, dark marker (to the right of a white marker).  After viewing the point of light photo, look at the "comparison" photo taken seconds later in which the light point is not visible.

FILE DATE AND TIME:    Aug 19, 2008 / 1630 hours

EQUIPMENT USED:   Handheld recorder, digital camera
FILE OVERVIEW:   Visiting Savannah on business so I could not pass up the opportunity to visit this beautiful and historic cemetery.  Unfortunately the cemetery closed at 1700 hours each day, so I had to rush from business meetings to grab a few minutes of photographing and EVP recording.  These recordings can be integrated into our Cemetery EVP Project.
METEOROLOGICAL DATA:    Skies were partly cloudy, temp about 85 degrees, high humidity, light breeze.  Barometer had to be rising as Tropical Storm Fay was one day away.
FILE RECAP:   Bonaventure is a massive cemetery with Spanish moss-shrouded trees and many, many small winding roads and paths.  To a great extent it's like a maze filled with graves.  Beautiful and ornate museum quality statuary and monuments ranging from 200 years old are everywhere.  Although it is somewhat desolate on a weekday afternoon, there were still a few tourists wandering around and taking pictures.  Although the cemetery is large, I had to move repeatedly to stay away from voices and machinery noises.  Consequently, instead of making one consistent EVP recording my attempts were broken up into three smaller sessions for a grand total of about 15 minutes.  I have no doubt that, given the time and opportunity to set up and monitor, this cemetery would be discovered to hold great paranormal promise..

FILE ATTACHMENTS

1.  EVP at 1.01.70 minutes from start:  Just entered the cemetery and not yet started questions.  I remark that I'm there to see if anyone would talk with me.  The wispy Class C EVP answer is "Yeah".

SITE:   Sorrell-Weed House - Savannah, GA
FILE DATE AND TIME:    Aug 19, 2008 / 2330 hours
TEAM MEMBERS PARTICIPATING:   Sam
EQUIPMENT USED:   Handheld recorder, digital camera
FILE OVERVIEW:
Had the opportunity while on a business trip to visit the Sorrell-Weed House in Savannah, GA.  As some may remember, this is the location where A&E's Ghost Hunters picked up their longest and most intricate EVP.  The house was built in the early 1800s and was inhabited by one of the most influential families in Savannah, the Sorrells.  One of the most famous stories associated with the house (in a nutshell) describes how the family matriarch, Mrs. Sorrell, was one day searching the house looking for her husband, Francis Sorrell.  She walked back to the Carriage House (behind the main house) where a slave woman, Molly, was quartered.  There she found her husband locked in an embrace with Molly.  Upon this discovery Mrs. Sorrell promptly ran back into the main house, up the stairs and onto the open veranda, then jumped headlong to her death in the courtyard below.  A couple of weeks after Mrs. Sorrell's death, Molly was found in her quarters, hanging dead from the rafters suspended by a rope around her neck.  The authorities attributed her death to suicide but the story goes that Mrs. Sorrell's sons, amgered at the death of their mother and holding Molly responsible, had perpetrated her murder.  The strong EVP that A&E's Ghost Hunters picked up was a full 10 seconds of a female voice screaming for "Help", yelling "Oh, my God", and "Get out of here".  Was this Molly reliving her final moments on earth?  No one knows.  However, this site has long been known for strong paranormal influence.
METEOROLOGICAL DATA:    Skies were cloudy, temp about 75 degrees, high humidity, light breeze.  Barometer had to be rising as Tropical Storm Fay was one day away.
FILE RECAP:   I took the $15 tour of the house which began at 2230 hours; upon conclusion of the tour you are given an opportunity to walk around and record or photograph at will.  There were about 10-15 people on the tour with me so I had to be selective as to which area I attempted recording (noise).  Turned out the basement was the quietest and most private area.  I really wanted to record in the Carriage House, but we were restricted to the main building, so I began wandering.  Only managed about 10 minutes of clear recording, but in those 10 minutes I turned up a couple of interesting EVPs.  In these EVPs you will hear loud, echoing footsteps (mine), this is due to the wooden floors in the basement.  A mechanical background whirring is caused by the air conditioner.  One thing is for sure...I caught these 5 EVPs and another couple that were totally unintelligible in about 10 minutes of recording.  I would pay to be able to spend the night with a full investigative setup such as was the case with A&E's Ghost Hunters!

FILE ATTACHMENTS

1.  EVP at 9.00 seconds from start:    This is definitely one of the strangest EVPs I have recorded.  I recommend you use headphones with recording.  As you can hear, a voice I believe to be female says "Do me".  I classed the EVP as "B", but truly it probably could pass for "A".  Even stranger is that this request is repeated a few minutes later (see below).

3.  EVP at 3.05.243 minutes from start:   I am wandering around the pitch dark basement with a small flashlight when a Class C EVP voice says what seems to say "Stop".  There possibly are other mumblings on the recording but I am unable to pull them out.

4.  EVP at 3.20 minutes from start:   I am still wandering in the basement when a Class C EVP voice again invites "Do me", then a couple of seconds later, "Yeah!".  Definitely a very strange EVP.  If anyone has other ideas as to what it saying, please chime in.
